Episode 04: Normalizing the Mess
As a grief counselor, Lydia Lomahan spends her days in the "mess" of other people’s lives, and in this episode, she helped us normalize the ambiguity of the process. We talked about the "rule of thirds", the reality that when things get hard, some people will show up, some will stay neutral, and some will simply ghost you. Lydia’s core message is that time itself doesn't heal anything; it’s what you do with that time that matters. It’s okay to sit in the pain and the confusion because grief, ultimately, is just a different form of the love you have for that person.
