Episode 01: The Story Behind Unparented

Grief isn't a textbook process, and it certainly isn't polished. In this first episode, I wanted to open up about the lived experience that created this podcast. I lost my father when I was 15, he was my provider, my protector, and eventually, my best friend. Years later, at 26, I lost my mother, a relationship that was as complicated as it was affectionate. These losses didn't just happen; they followed me into adulthood, showing up in the quiet moments of the Target parking lot or during the birth of my daughters. I’ve learned that grief is really just love with nowhere to go, and the only way to carry it is to stop doing it alone. This episode is an invitation into that space of pure honesty, a place to air the things we usually keep quiet.
